Vacancy Details

The 630 vacancies are distributed across Navik and Yantrik posts for CGEPT 01/2026 and 02/2026 batches. The tentative post-wise and zone-wise distribution is as follows:

• Navik (General Duty): Vacancies are allocated zone-wise, requiring a domicile certificate for eligibility.

• Navik (Domestic Branch): Similar zone-wise distribution with domicile requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Navik (General Duty):

  • Must have passed Class 12th with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

• Navik (Domestic Branch):

  • Must have passed Class 10th from a COBSE-recognized board.

• Yantrik (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics):

  • Must have passed Class 10th from a COBSE-recognized board.

  • Additionally, candidates must hold a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Age Limit

• Navik (GD) for 01/26 & 02/26 Batch: Born between August 1, 2004, and August 1, 2008 (inclusive).

• Navik (DB) for 02/26 Batch: Born between August 1, 2004, and August 1, 2008 (inclusive).

• Yantrik for 01/26 Batch: Born between March 1, 2004, and March 1, 2008 (inclusive).

• Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years (for reserved posts).

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years (for reserved posts).

Nationality

• Only male Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

Selection Process

The selection process for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2025 is conducted in three stages:

Stage I: Written Examination

• Computer-based test (CBT) with objective-type questions.

• Navik (GD): Sections include Mathematics, Physics, English, Reasoning, and General Awareness.

• Navik (DB): Sections cover English, Mathematics, General Awareness, and Reasoning.

• Yantrik: Includes additional technical sections (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics) along with general sections.

• Passing each section is mandatory, with no negative marking.

Stage II: Assessment and Document Verification

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Includes running, push-ups, and squats.

• Assessment Test: OMR-based, qualifying in nature.

• Document Verification: Verification of original documents against application details.

• Recruitment Medical Examination: Conducted as per ICG standards.

Stage III: Final Verification

• Conducted at INS Chilka, involving:

  • Final document verification.

  • Pre-enrollment medicals.

  • Submission of police verification and other forms.

• Documents are sent for verification by respective boards/universities post-training.

Salary Structure

• Navik (GD & DB):

  • Basic Pay: ₹21,700/- (Pay Level-3).

  • Additional allowances: Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, and others based on duty and posting location.

• Yantrik:

  • Basic Pay: ₹29,200/- (Pay Level-5).

  • Additional allowances as applicable.

• Approximate monthly in-hand salary for Navik: ₹25,000–₹30,000; for Yantrik: ₹35,000–₹47,000 (including allowances).

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹300/– (Rupees Three Hundred Only).

• SC/ST: Exempted from payment.
